December is coming!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! This year I haven't been in the shopping mood so I was perfectly fine without Black Friday Shopping.

I can't believe November is winding down already and shortly it will be December, Christmas, and then New Years! I have been on Instagram and seeing new challenges popping up. I hate to say it but it's pretty much the same old traditional things. The only thing you that is different is who is hosting it. I decided to go with the #artsydoodlechallenge by @myartsybujo and @bulletjournalnutt. @myartsybujo is one of my good IG buddies. She produces amazing work. We actually started IG about the same time in July of this year but her account really took off. She's already at 3k followers and I'm fairly close to 500.

Anyways, I came up a challenge for myself because they tend to help me think outside of the box. Thus the creation of my Holiday Funnies #sillydoodlechallenge! I am not sure how many people will join but I made it every other day rather than everyday. I had fun coming up with the list but now I have to figure out what I will do. I think I am going to go back to paper, pencil, pen, colored pencils, and markers for this challenge.

Also, another IG inspiration I adore is @casualderision. They created my character in their comic! So cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Collaboration

OMG I just participated in my first collaboration hosted by @exciety on Instagram. When they first asked me to do it, I jumped at the idea. So cool to have a slumber party with all the characters. I was just thrilled to be asked! Yesterday was when they posted the final party and to my surprise there were many other characters that I follow, look up to, admire, aspire to be, and inspired by! I am just geeking out! I am so glad to be apart of it. It's so AWESOME!!! 😀😂😃😄

It's C-C-Cold Out!

It seems Mother Nature perhaps settled on a season so far? I can't believe the holidays are right around the corner. Where has the time gone?

At work, we are entering the Gingerbread Contest again this year. This was the event last year that ignited by artist journey again. This year we are aiming for a winter wonderland theme. It will still be fun but it just seems so basic. I guess I enjoyed the challenge last year since we were really specific with our theme and maybe because I felt like I was a vital part of the group since I did create the main center piece. I made Poppy from Trolls and the little troll hanging on the sail. 😀

I reached 400 followers this week! I have been using Procreate on the iPad and it has made life easier as far as drawing and posting. The apple pen is incredible and responsive as if you really are drawing for real. Being able to undo and redo is a life saver and experimenting with things I wouldn't normally is great. I do need to get back into actually drawing though. I've been so immersed in it that when I draw on paper I would think I need to click the undo button...LOL.

I also join in on another project started on IG by @cimocs. Spread Love Not Hate. What a great message!

The template was provided for participants. I used Procreate to add my characters and the heart bubbles.

My first comic made in Procreate.

November

The #sillydoodlechallenge is underway and it's been going pretty well. I love all the creativity and the addition of everyone's character stories to make it even more fun! My son has been so excited to see all the interpretations and it's so cute to see!

Check out the most recent posts for cupcake and lemon! Everyone's work is so amazing! 😀

I received an early Christmas present on November 1st! My hubby bought me an iPad Pro and pen to help my drawings along. It is really exciting to have a new toy. I was thinking about putting some sort of tablet or iPad on my wish list for that exact reason so he read my mind! He's been seeing my progress and since its lasted over 2 months he wanted me to continue on my artist journey. He is a creative soul as well so he's really supportive and encouraging. Not to mention it's helping with my depression. I still think it might be me using it as a way of distracting myself...but at least I'm having fun doing it? Anyways, it had been keeping me busy trying to learn about using Procreate. It's been fun and challenging.
